Do you remember Salford Docks, the Port of Manchester or Manchester Docks?

If you have any memories or stories about the Manchester Ship Canal we would love to hear them as part of an exciting new project looking at the heritage stories from Salford Quays.

We'll be looking back at the people who lived and worked during the era of the Manchester Ship Canal and the events and activities that shaped their lives and the world around them.

We're on a journey to discover the special and hidden histories that shaped the people and places in and around the area now known as Salford Quays.

A place that in 1894 opened an inland industrial hub along 35.5 miles of waterway to the Mersey Estuary, the Irish Sea, the Atlantic Ocean and the world!

A place that is a symbol of pioneering engineering, innovation and human effort.

A place that is a testimony to the power of creativity, determination and persistence.
